Department Overview
The Electric Engineering team ensures all aspects of electric engineering are addressed, including electrical standards, process safety, design engineering, instrumentation, controls, undergrounding, regulatory compliance, and investment planning. The goal is to safely establish a strategic and reliable work plan for Electric Operations colleagues.
This organization is responsible for program planning, financial management, and delivering all electric engineering projects. Electric Engineering consists of approximately 2,000 team members.
The Safety & Operations group operates within the Compliance Excellence department in Electric Engineering Compliance. The team's mission is to foster a culture of compliance that supports and exceeds safety, reliability, customer, and regulatory requirements.The Market and Federal Compliance organization oversees compliance, provides support, and monitors processes to meet regulatory obligations from agencies like the Public Utilities Commission and Independent System Operator. Key compliance areas include:
CPUC ComplianceOpen Access Transmission TariffTransmission Control Agreements and related Business Process Manuals and Maintenance ProceduresAnnual Maintenance Reviews
Position Summary
The Electric Compliance and Risk Consultant, Expert collaborates closely with Electric Engineering, Planning, and Electric Operations teams.Key responsibilities include:Supporting ongoing mitigation plans filed with the Regional EntityWorking with Electric Engineering teams on the creation of mitigation plansCollaborating with controls verification teams to develop and implement testing processes and address findingsAssisting with annual gap analysis proceduresPreparing data-driven business cases for or against specific actions and risk mitigation strategiesIdentifying gaps between compliance standards and existing guidance materialsIdentifying opportunities to establish new internal controlsAssisting with building improved internal controlsSupporting the preparation of compliance narratives and supporting documentationAssisting during regulatory auditsProviding additional support during annual maintenance reviews
Work Type:Hybrid (three days per week in the office)

Compensation
The salary range listed is what the company believes may be paid for this position. Actual salaries will depend on multiple factors, such as skills, education, certifications, experience, market conditions, geographic location, and internal equity. Placement within the range will be determined based on these factors.Estimated salary ranges:Minimum Base Salary: $122,000.00Mid Base Salary: $158,000.00Maximum Base Salary: $194,000.00Minimum Base Salary: $116,000.00Mid Base Salary: $150,000.00Maximum Base Salary: $184,000.00Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience7 years of relevant professional experienceDesired QualificationsDegree in Electrical EngineeringCertified Internal Auditor (CIA)Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP)Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP)Leading Professional in Ethics and Compliance (LPEC)Experience with Transmission OperationsExperience with Transmission Planning4 years of experience managing compliance or risk programs or controlsIn-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements in utilitiesAdvanced knowledge of and ability to apply internal control, risk analysis, and risk assessment conceptsStrong problem-solving, project management, and change management abilitiesData analysis skills with the ability to draw conclusions and provide recommendationsStrong communication skills, able to convey complex data clearly to a range of audiences including executivesAbility to influence peers to achieve shared understanding and commitmentHighly adaptable, self-motivated, and able to operate effectively in a rapidly evolving environment
